The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (K-SET) is the entrance for those aspiring to become Assistant Professors in Karnataka. Educational Qualification 

For appearing in the K-SET Life Science examination, candidates need to have the following educational qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree: Candidate should have postgraduate degree in Life Sciences or a closely related subject such as Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology from a recognized university. 

Minimum Marks: 

  • General category candidates must score at least 55% marks in their master's degree. 

  • Reserved category candidates such as SC, ST, OBC, and PwD need to score a minimum of 50% marks. 

Final Year Students: Those students who are in the final year of master's program or awaiting results may also apply subject to the fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility criteria, which must complete their degree requirement within the timeframe decided by K-SET. 

Age Limit 

There is no upper age limit for appearing in the K-SET examination. This way, candidates of any age group can apply, given that they satisfy the educational qualifications.
