Shares of US Ecology were surging Wednesday after the environmental solutions company announced it was being acquired by Republic Services for $2.2 billion.
Republic Services (ticker: RSG), a provider of nonhazardous waste services, will pay US Ecology (ECOL) shareholders $48 a share in cash, including net debt of about $700 million.
